Good acclimatisation to the altitude is important before starting any trek. We recommend that you arrive in Huaraz at least two days before your trek starts so that you have time to start acclimatising. We can recommend and organise suitable day hikes to help with the acclimatisation process.
See our Day Hikes in the Cordillera Blanca page for options
During treks we use donkeys to carry camping & cooking equipment, tents, food and your personal bag. You only carry a light day pack with camera, snacks, water bottle, warm jacket etc. Our guides and crew are very experienced and know how to manage trekking at altitude. We always walk slowly, take plenty of rest breaks and make sure that you have plenty of boiled water to drink.
For those not so keen to do multi day trekking trips, there are options for easy hiking and camping, day tours by vehicle to see beautiful lakes or glaciers and cultural tours to visit pre-Inca ruins.
